Flamengo’s Efficiency Decides Carioca Derby
Rio de Janeiro – In a tense and tactical duel, Flamengo defeated Fluminense at the Estádio do Maracanã with a score of one to zero, corresponding to matchday 15 of the Brazilian Serie A. The match, overseen by referee Raphael Claus, saw a clear dominance of Flamengo in ball possession, reaching 66%.
Despite the territorial control, the match was characterized by a scrappy game in midfield, reflected in the numerous fouls committed by both teams (14 by Flamengo and 6 by Fluminense) and the cautions received. Léo Pereira and Allan of Flamengo, and Agustín Canobbio of Fluminense, received yellow cards in the first half.
