Ferencvarosi TC Edges Out Plzen in Tight Europa League Clash
Budapest, February 13, 2025.- Ferencvarosi TC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Plzen in a thrilling UEFA Europa League Knockout Round Play-offs match at the Groupama Aréna in Budapest. M. Abu Fani scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute, expertly finishing an assist from B. Varga.
Despite Plzen enjoying a greater share of possession (57% to Ferencvarosi’s 43%), the home side proved more clinical in front of goal, registering 12 shots (3 on target) compared to Plzen’s 15 (2 on target). The match was a fiercely contested affair, evidenced by the high number of fouls: 13 for Ferencvarosi and 15 for Plzen. Late in the game, B. Varga (Ferencvarosi) and M.
