Ferencvarosi TC secured a convincing 5-3 victory over Diosgyori VTK in a thrilling match at the Groupama Aréna in Budapest. The game, part of the 14th round of the Hungarian NB I, saw Ferencvarosi TC dominate possession with 78%.
Diosgyori VTK took a surprising early lead. Acolatse, assisted by Edomwonyi, opened the scoring in the 8th minute. Huszar extended the lead in the 19th minute, again assisted by Acolatse. Benyei added a third goal for Diosgyori VTK in the 41st minute. However, Ferencvarosi TC responded with a goal from Varga in the 42nd minute, assisted by Abu Fani. Another goal before halftime reduced Diosgyori VTK’s advantage.
In the second half, Ferencvarosi TC showcased their superiority. Rommens (69th minute) and Abu Fani (70th minute), both assisted by Kehinde, scored consecutive goals. Another goal sealed the victory for Ferencvarosi TC despite Diosgyori VTK’s strong start. Ferencvarosi TC had 22 shots, 7 on target, while Diosgyori VTK managed only 9 shots, 4 on target. Ferencvarosi TC received 3 yellow cards, while Diosgyori VTK received 5.
