Fenerbahce thrashes Istanbul Basaksehir in a thrilling match
Fenerbahce secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir at the Ülker Stadyumu Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Spor Kompleksi in Istanbul. The match, part of the 16th round of the Turkish Süper Lig, was characterized by Fenerbahce’s dominance in possession (63%) and goal-scoring opportunities (22 shots, 7 on target).
Edin Dzeko opened the scoring in the 41st minute, capitalizing on a pass from Sebastian Szymanski. Istanbul Basaksehir suffered a setback with a red card for O. Ba in the 45th minute, along with accumulating five yellow cards. Despite pulling one back through Krzysztof Piatek in the 59th minute (assisted by O. Kemen), Fenerbahce sealed the win with two more goals from Youssef En Nesyri in the 74th and 90th minutes, assisted by Dusan Tadic and Filip Kostic respectively.
