Thrilling Match in Bucharest Ends in Agonizing Draw
Bucharest, August 7, 2025 – The match between FCSB and Drita at the Arena Naţională, corresponding to the 3rd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Europa League, ended in a vibrant draw that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very last second.
Drita surprised early in the match, opening the scoring in the 7th minute with a goal by V. Tusha. In the second half, A. Manaj extended the visitors’ lead in the 50th minute. However, FCSB reacted with determination. D. Birligea narrowed the gap for the home side in the 64th minute, followed by a goal from D. Graovac in the 72nd minute, leveling the score. Just when it seemed that the draw was imminent, D. Birligea scored a penalty in the last minute of regulation time, rescuing a point for FCSB.
Referee Damian Sylwestrzak showed yellow cards to F. Maloku and A. Dabiqaj of Drita, as well as to one FCSB player. The match, played in an electrifying atmosphere, leaves the tie open for the return leg. The game was dynamic and had several fouls called by the officiating crew.
