Volendam Cruises to 4-0 Victory Over Jong PSV in Thrilling Match
FC Volendam secured a dominant 4-0 win against Jong PSV in an exciting match at the Kras Stadion in Volendam. The game, part of the 2024 Eerste Divisie season’s 33rd round, was highlighted by a red card for Jong PSV and a clinical performance from the home side.
Despite Jong PSV holding a slight edge in possession (51% to 49%), FC Volendam proved more accurate in front of goal (7 shots on target vs 4). Yenni Leliendal broke the deadlock in the 68th minute, assisted by H. Veerman. A penalty converted by B. Kuwas in the 80th minute doubled the lead. Late goals from J. Jacobs (86th minute) and H. Veerman (90th minute) sealed a comfortable 4-0 victory for Volendam.
The match was also notable for the red card shown to E. Bars of Jong PSV in the 79th minute, following two yellow cards. FC Volendam received one yellow card, while Jong PSV received two. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Jong PSV couldn’t overcome Volendam’s attacking prowess.
