FC Rostov Secures Victory in Sochi with Shchetinin’s Goal
Sochi, Russia – In a hard-fought match at the Fisht Olympic Stadium, FC Rostov defeated FC Sochi with a score of 1 to 0. The game, part of the Russian Premier League’s 15th round, was characterized by intensity and midfield battles.
Despite FC Sochi having a slight edge in possession (49% against Rostov’s 51%), they failed to convert it into goal-scoring opportunities. In fact, they only managed one shot throughout the entire match, which went wide. FC Rostov, on the other hand, was more effective in front of the goal, registering six shots, three of which were on target.
The only goal of the match came in the 40th minute when K. Shchetinin, assisted by M. Mohebi, beat the Sochi goalkeeper. The match was also marked by a high number of fouls, with 11 committed by Rostov and 5 by Sochi. Furthermore, Langovich from Rostov and Attiyat Allah from Sochi received yellow cards. Referee Ranel Ziyakov officiated the match.
