FC Noah Upsets AZ Alkmaar in Yerevan with Narrow Victory
YEREVAN, February 19, 2026 – In a hard-fought match at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan, FC Noah secured a surprising victory against AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 32. H. Hambardzumyan’s goal in the 53rd minute, assisted by H. Ferreira, proved to be enough for the home side to clinch the win.
AZ Alkmaar dominated possession with 70% compared to FC Noah’s 30%, but failed to convert it into goals. The visitors registered 8 shots, only 2 of which were on target. FC Noah, despite having less possession, were more clinical in front of goal, with a total of 12 shots and 3 hitting the target.
