FC Midtjylland Overwhelms KuPS in Europa League Clash
Herning, August 21, 2025 – FC Midtjylland dominated KuPS at the MCH Arena, securing a resounding victory in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-offs. Despite a slight disadvantage in ball possession (48% vs. 52%), the Danish team was far more effective in front of goal.
Midtjylland opened the scoring early with a goal from A. Buksa in the 15th minute, assisted by D. Osorio. Shortly after, in the 19th minute, D. Osorio extended the lead with a goal of his own, this time assisted by A. Simsir. KuPS tried to react, but encountered a solid defense and a relentless attack. The first half ended with a yellow card for I. Cisse of KuPS.
In the second half, Midtjylland continued to press. Junior Brumado became the star of the match with two goals, one in the 81st minute, assisted by M. Bech Sorensen, and another in the 90th minute, assisted by K. Mbabu, sealing the victory for his team. The match also saw a yellow card for M. Erlic of Midtjylland and another for P. Pennanen of KuPS. Midtjylland dominated shots on target with 8 compared to KuPS’s 2, although they conceded one more corner (4 vs 5). With this result, FC Midtjylland takes an important step towards the Europa League group stage. The match was refereed by Srdan Jovanovic from Serbia.
