FC Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen played a thrilling match at the MCH Arena in Herning on April 17th, 2025, as part of the Superliga’s Championship Round, matchday 4. The match, refereed by Michael Tykgaard, ended with a 4-2 victory for FC Midtjylland.
The home side started strongly, scoring two goals in the first half thanks to A. Buksa (29th minute) and M. Gogorza (39th minute). K. Mbabu received a yellow card for Midtjylland in the 30th minute. FC Copenhagen responded in the second half, with M. Elyounoussi pulling one back in the 56th minute, assisted by E. Achouri. V. Froholdt added another for the visitors in the 78th minute, assisted by V. Claesson. However, Midtjylland fought back with two more goals: O. Diao scored in the 86th minute, and A. Buksa sealed the victory with a penalty in the 90th minute. FC Copenhagen received two yellow cards, to A. Cornelius and P. Hatzidiakos, while Midtjylland received only one. Despite FC Copenhagen’s superior possession (66%), FC Midtjylland proved more clinical in attack, with 14 shots (6 on target) compared to Copenhagen’s 17 (6 on target).
