Juarez Mounts Last-Minute Comeback to Snatch Victory from Santos Laguna
Ciudad Juárez, Mexico – In a dramatic finish, FC Juarez achieved an impressive comeback to defeat Santos Laguna with a score of 2 to 1 at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez. The match, corresponding to the sixth round of the Liga MX Apertura, was marked by intensity and midfield battles.
Santos Laguna took an early lead in the match, in the 11th minute, with a goal by C. Dajome, assisted by B. Barticciotto, which momentarily silenced the home crowd. From there, the Lagunero team tried to maintain control of the match, but FC Juarez, fueled by their fans, began to dominate ball possession, reaching 60% by the end of the match.

Local euphoria erupted when, in the 90th minute, D. Garcia scored the winning goal for FC Juarez, thanks to an assist from A. Mayorga. The match ended with an additional yellow card for R. Fulgencio, sealing an agonizing but well-deserved victory for the border team. Despite the superior ball possession and the 15 shots taken, Juarez’s effectiveness in the final minutes was the key to obtaining the three points. Santos Laguna, for its part, will have to analyze what happened to prevent this type of situation from recurring in the future.
