FC Gomel Secures Narrow Victory Over FC Vitebsk in Tactical Match
Homel’, Belarus – FC Gomel claimed victory in a tense and hard-fought match against FC Vitebsk at the Stadyen Central’ny. The encounter, corresponding to matchday 21 of the Belarusian Premier League, was decided in the final minutes thanks to a goal by A. Antilevskiy in the 84th minute, assisted by R. Adeola.
The match was marked by a high number of yellow cards. Y. Skibskiy from FC Vitebsk was cautioned in the 8th minute. For FC Gomel, T. Simanenka (24′), V. Martinkevich (39′) and G. Kukushkin (75′) also received yellow cards.
Although the statistics show parity in many respects, FC Gomel managed to convert the only clear goal opportunity they had at the end of the match. FC Vitebsk, meanwhile, could not capitalize on their chances.
