Excelsior secured a convincing 3-1 victory over FC Eindhoven in a thrilling match at the Jan Louwers Stadion in Eindhoven. Despite having less possession (36% for FC Eindhoven compared to Excelsior’s 64%), the home team took the lead through a goal from Sleegers in the 54th minute, assisted by van Schuppen. However, Excelsior proved more clinical in attack. Bergraaf put Excelsior ahead in the 47th minute, assisted by Zagre. Van Duinen then sealed the victory with a goal in the 84th minute, assisted by Kuiper. The match was characterized by a higher number of shots for Excelsior (21 to 8) and a significant superiority in shots on target (9 versus 2). Both teams received one yellow card each.
