FC Cincinnati edged past CD Motagua in a closely fought CONCACAF Champions League 2025 first-round match at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Despite dominating possession with 74%, Cincinnati’s win was built on efficiency. Motagua took the lead in the 9th minute through R. Auzmendi, assisted by J. Núñez. However, Cincinnati responded quickly, equalizing in the 19th minute with a goal from K. Denkey, assisted by C. Baird. Cincinnati’s territorial dominance was evident in their three shots (one on target), but a lack of clinical finishing prevented them from extending their lead.
