FC BW Linz Claims Victory in Card-Filled Match
Linz, Austria – FC BW Linz defeated Wolfsberger AC in a hard-fought match at the Hofmann Personal Stadion. The game, officiated by Arnes Talic, was marked by a high number of yellow cards, with five for Linz and three for Wolfsberger.
Linz, despite having only 35% of the ball possession, managed to capitalize on their opportunities. Shon Weissman opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 44th minute, giving the home side the lead just before halftime.
In the second half, Ronivaldo extended Linz’s lead in the 80th minute with a goal assisted by S. Seidl. However, Wolfsberger AC responded in stoppage time, with E. Chukwu scoring a goal in the 90th minute, assisted by D. Zukic. Despite the late surge, it was not enough to change the outcome.
Linz demonstrated effective attacking play, converting two of their five shots on target. Both teams had a total of 14 shots, but Linz’s accuracy proved decisive. Overall, it was a tense match, with plenty of fouls and bookings, but with Linz being more effective in the key moments.
