Thrilling Draw in Encamp: Andorra and Mirandés Split Points
Encamp witnessed a hard-fought and exciting match between FC Andorra and Mirandés, which ended in a draw. FC Andorra dominated possession with an impressive 77%, generating a total of 18 shots, 6 of which were on target, but they only managed to convert one. Mirandés, on the other hand, opted for a more defensive strategy, taking advantage of the few opportunities they had on the counterattack.
Andorra took the lead in the 21st minute with a goal by D. Villahermosa, assisted by T. Carrique. However, the home side’s joy was short-lived, as Mirandés equalized in the 26th minute through a penalty converted by C. Fernandez.
Despite their territorial dominance and the numerous chances created, FC Andorra was unable to beat the rival goalkeeper again. Mirandés, despite their lower possession (23%) and fewer shots (7 in total, with only 2 on target), proved to be effective in defense. The match was marked by a high number of fouls (15 for Andorra and 22 for Mirandés) and yellow cards (2 for Andorra and 5 for Mirandés).
Referee Alonso De Ena Wolf had his work cut out to maintain order in an intense and physical encounter. In the end, the draw reflected the fight and effort of both teams, who each took a point on their journey through the Segunda División.
