Eyüpspor and Konyaspor Draw in Thrilling Istanbul Encounter
The Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadyumu in Istanbul hosted a thrilling match between Eyüpspor and Konyaspor, part of the 27th round of the Turkish Süper Lig. The match, played on March 9th, 2025, ended in a 2-2 draw, a game marked by intensity and yellow cards.
Eyüpspor took the lead early with a penalty converted by E. Akbaba in the 15th minute. However, Konyaspor managed to equalize in the 59th minute thanks to a goal by T. Tasci. Eyüpspor regained the lead in the 76th minute with a goal from U. Bozok, but the score remained unchanged despite the efforts from both sides.
The match was full of excitement, with yellow cards shown to players from both teams: five for Eyüpspor (E. Mor, R. Yalcin, U. Bozok, M. Thiam, and Luccas Claro) and one for Konyaspor (O. Ulgun). Although Konyaspor slightly dominated possession (52% to 48%), both teams created scoring chances: Eyüpspor had 7 shots (5 on target) and Konyaspor 10 (3 on target).
Turkish referee Atilla Karaoglan officiated the match, which reflected the balance between the two teams in the league.
