Galatasaray Defeats Eyüpspor in Istanbul Match
Istanbul – Galatasaray triumphed over Eyüpspor at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı in a Süper Lig match on its fifth day. Galatasaray’s dominance was evident in ball possession, holding 65% compared to Eyüpspor’s 35%. Despite this superiority, the match was not without tension, as evidenced by the three yellow cards issued, one to Galatasaray and two to Eyüpspor.
Galatasaray converted its dominance in the 73rd minute with a goal by M. Icardi, assisted by A. Kutucu, opening the score. The second and final goal came in the 89th minute, scored by Y. Akgun after an assist from B. A. Yilmaz, securing the victory for the home team.
Eyüpspor, although with less possession, tried to create danger, with 9 shots, of which 2 were on target. However, Galatasaray’s defensive solidity and the lack of precision in the rival attack prevented them from threatening the final result.
