Everton de Viña del Mar suffered a bittersweet defeat against Nublense in a vibrant match played at the Estadio Sausalito in Viña del Mar. The game, corresponding to the third round of the 2025 Chilean Primera División, ended with a 2-3 score in favor of the visitors.
Despite dominating possession (64%), Everton couldn’t capitalize on their superiority. While they had 19 shots, only 5 were on target. Their offensive effectiveness was hampered by multiple cards: three yellows and two reds, the second in stoppage time, resulting in the expulsion of two players. Iván Ramírez scored a penalty in the 38th minute, but Nublense’s numerical superiority, despite their four yellow cards, made a difference.
Nublense, with 36% possession, showed greater efficiency in attack. Leonardo Molina opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, assisted by Bryan Cerezo. Later, Patricio Sánchez extended the lead in the 45th minute, assisted by Pedro Calderón. Although Nublense also received four cautions, their effectiveness in shots (4 out of 5 on target) was key to the victory.
The match was marked by tension and cards, a total of 11 cautions and two expulsions. Despite Everton’s territorial dominance, Nublense’s decisiveness in the attacking third determined the final result.
