River Plate Suffer but Secure Victory Against Estudiantes in Heated Match
La Plata, Buenos Aires Province – In a match filled with emotion and controversy at the Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi, River Plate secured a hard-fought 2 to 1 victory against Estudiantes de La Plata, in a game corresponding to matchday 8 of the Argentinian Professional League 2025.
The match began with a dominant River Plate, who quickly took the lead with goals from Giuliano Galoppo in the 6th minute, assisted by N. Fernandez, and by N. Fernandez himself in the 13th minute. It seemed the game was heading towards a rout, but Estudiantes reacted and began to dominate possession.
