Benfica Secures Narrow Victory Against Estrela in Amadora
In a hard-fought match at the Estádio José Gomes in Amadora, Benfica secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Estrela. The game, part of the second round of the Primeira Liga, was characterized by intensity and midfield battles.
Benfica dominated possession with 57%, but struggled to convert that dominance into clear goal-scoring opportunities. Of their 12 shots, only 2 were on target. Estrela’s defense, though outmatched in possession (43%), proved solid and combative, frustrating many of the Lisbon team’s attacks.

Despite the defeat, Estrela showed grit and commitment, generating 15 shots, although only 2 of them were on target. Benfica, for their part, takes home three valuable points in their quest for the title, although they will need to improve their goal-scoring efficiency.
