Al-Nassr Dominates and Defeats Esteghlal in AFC Champions League Clash
Al-Nassr secured a 2-0 victory over Esteghlal FC in a thrilling Round of 16 AFC Champions League match played at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran on March 3rd, 2025. Despite a significant possession advantage for Al-Nassr (66% to 34%), the game was a closely fought battle for midfield control.
Al-Nassr created considerably more scoring chances, registering 17 shots (6 on target) compared to Esteghlal’s 10 (only 2 on target). This superior accuracy translated into the victory, showcasing greater clinical finishing. While Esteghlal attempted to counter with direct play, Al-Nassr’s solid defense effectively neutralized their efforts.
