Villarreal Secures Victory in Cornellà with a Solid 2-0 Win over Espanyol
In a match held at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà, Villarreal secured an important 0-2 victory over Espanyol in La Liga matchday 12. Despite Espanyol dominating possession with 55% compared to Villarreal’s 45%, the visiting team proved more effective in front of goal.
Gerard Moreno opened the scoring for Villarreal in the 43rd minute, assisted by Santi Comesaña. In the second half, in the 57th minute, Álex Moleiro extended the lead for the Yellow Submarine.
Espanyol, despite trying to react with 14 total shots, only managed to direct 3 of them on target. Villarreal, with 9 total shots, displayed greater effectiveness, placing 3 of them on goal.
