Emmen thrashed Jong Ajax in an exciting match
Emmen secured a convincing victory over Jong Ajax by 5-2 in an Eerste Divisie match played at De Oude Meerdijk in Emmen.
The match started at a frantic pace and Jong Ajax took the lead with a penalty goal from J. Banel in the 12th minute. Banel received a yellow card shortly after, but Jong Ajax extended their lead in the 19th minute with a goal from J. Mokio.
Emmen quickly responded and J. Kade scored the first goal for the home team in the 31st minute. The second half started with a swap of changes by both teams, and Emmen found their rhythm. P. Mulder tied the score in the 48th minute, and then Emmen scored three more goals in quick succession, by P. Mulder, F. Evina and A. Sadiku, to seal the victory.
Emmen dominated possession (64%) and created more scoring opportunities (11 shots, 7 on target), while Jong Ajax were limited to 5 shots, 4 on target.
