Hard-Fought Draw Between El Salvador and Suriname at Cuscatlán
San Salvador witnessed a tight match between El Salvador and Suriname that ended in a 1-1 draw. Suriname took an early lead in the 12th minute with a goal by R. Balker assisted by K. Paal. El Salvador fought to equalize and had a goal disallowed by VAR in the 29th minute due to a handball by B. Gil.
El Salvador continued to press and eventually found the equalizer in the 73rd minute thanks to an own goal by A. Dijksteel. Suriname regained the lead in the 82nd minute with a goal by D. Klas, assisted by D. Jubitana.
The match was characterized by intensity in midfield and several yellow cards. El Salvador had 44% possession and took 10 shots (3 on target, 5 off target).
