Blooming and El Nacional played a thrilling match at Quito’s Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa, in the first round of the 2025 CONMEBOL Libertadores. The match, officiated by Brazil’s Flavio Rodrigues De Souza, was decided in a dramatic penalty shootout after a draw at the end of regulation time.
El Nacional dominated possession (68%), generating 25 shots, although only four were on target. Blooming, with less possession (32%), was more effective in their arrivals, with 7 shots, 4 of them on target.
