Eintracht Frankfurt Crushes Galatasaray at Home with Offensive Exhibition
Frankfurt am Main, September 18, 2025 – Eintracht Frankfurt delivered a memorable performance in front of their home crowd at Deutsche Bank Park, overwhelmingly defeating Galatasaray with a resounding victory. Despite Galatasaray dominating possession with 61% compared to Eintracht’s 39%, the home side’s effectiveness was the key to the match.
Galatasaray took an early lead thanks to a goal by Y. Akgun in the 8th minute, assisted by L. Sane. However, Eintracht was quick to react. An own goal by D. Sanchez in the 37th minute leveled the score. From that moment on, Eintracht unleashed an unstoppable offensive. C.Y. Uzun scored just before halftime, followed immediately by a goal from J. Burkardt, assisted by F. Chaibi, giving Eintracht a solid lead before the break.
In the second half, J. Burkardt scored again in the 66th minute, this time assisted by N. Brown, consolidating the lead. A. Knauff sealed Eintracht’s victory in the 75th minute, assisted by E. Wahi.
Although Galatasaray had more shots (13 against Eintracht’s 11), the home side’s defense and ruthlessness in attack were too much for the visitors. Eintracht Frankfurt demonstrated great effectiveness in front of goal, capitalizing on their opportunities to secure a decisive victory in their UEFA Champions League debut. The match was refereed by Marco Guida (Italy). Eintracht received one yellow card.
