Hertha BSC Thrashes Eintracht Braunschweig in Thrilling Match
Hertha BSC secured a resounding 5-1 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig in a captivating match played at the Eintracht-Stadion in Braunschweig on March 16th, 2025. The game, part of the 26th round of the 2. Bundesliga, was dominated by Hertha’s attacking prowess, scoring five goals, although one was disallowed for offside.
Reese opened the scoring in the 8th minute, Scherhant extended the lead in the 42nd, and an own goal by Nikolaou in the 44th virtually sealed the match before halftime. Reese added his second in the 69th minute. Tempelmann scored a consolation goal for Eintracht in the 90th minute, but Winkler immediately responded with another goal for Hertha in the same minute.
Despite Eintracht enjoying slightly more possession (56% to 44%), Hertha proved far more clinical in front of goal, managing 12 shots with 10 on target, compared to Eintracht’s 2 shots on target. Hertha received one yellow card, while Eintracht finished the game without any cautions. The referee was Florian Badstubner.
