Ecuador Crushes Bolivia 4-0 in World Cup Qualifier
Guayaquil, November 15, 2024.- Ecuador dominated Bolivia in a decisive 4-0 victory at the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha in a crucial South American World Cup Qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup. Ecuador controlled the game, boasting 79% possession.
The match was effectively decided early. Enner Valencia converted a penalty at the 26th minute, followed two minutes later by Gonzalo Plata’s goal, assisted by Valencia. Although Ecuador had a goal disallowed for offside (Valencia, 43′), their superiority was undeniable. Plata scored again at the 49th minute, completing his brace thanks to another assist from Valencia. A. Minda added the fourth goal at the 61st minute, securing a comprehensive victory for Ecuador.
Bolivia managed only one shot on target, struggling against Ecuador’s dominance. The red card shown to J. Sagredo at the 24th minute severely hampered Bolivia’s efforts.
