Podbrezová secures victory in thrilling match against Dukla Banská Bystrica
Podbrezová defeated Dukla Banská Bystrica 2-0 in a match played at the Štadión SNP Štiavničky in Banská Bystrica on December 7th, 2024, corresponding to matchday 17 of the Slovak Super Liga. The match, refereed by Peter Kralovic, was marked by the intensity and effectiveness of the visiting team.
Despite slightly lower possession (47% compared to Dukla’s 53%), Podbrezová generated more goal-scoring opportunities, with 14 shots (5 on target) against Dukla’s 5 (1 on target). This superiority in attack translated into two goals in the final stages of the match. First, D. Smekal opened the scoring in the 76th minute, assisted by S. Stefanik. Later, P. Juritka sealed the victory in the 89th minute, assisted by D. Smekal.
