Doncaster suffers comeback defeat against Swindon Town in thrilling League Two clash
Doncaster suffered a disappointing home defeat against Swindon Town on Friday, March 8th at the Eco-Power Stadium, despite taking an early lead. The match, part of the League Two, 2024 season, round 36, ended 2-3.
R. Street gave Doncaster the lead in the 1st minute, assisted by G. Broadbent. J. Sbarra doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute, with an assist from L. Molyneux. However, Swindon Town staged a remarkable second-half comeback. D. Butterworth scored in the 50th minute and J. Westley in the 51st, levelling the score. Swindon Town then went on to secure the win.
Despite the loss, Doncaster had more corners (9-0) and total shots (13-9), although Swindon enjoyed better possession (56%) and more shots on target (5-4). Both teams received one yellow card each. The referee was L. Doughty.
