Derry City thrashes Sligo Rovers in a vibrant Londonderry match
Derry City achieved a resounding 3-0 victory over Sligo Rovers in a match played at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium in Londonderry. The game, part of the 11th round of the 2025 Irish Premier Division, took place on April 22nd at 6:45 PM. Derry City dominated despite having slightly less possession (46% compared to Sligo’s 54%).
Goals came early. Dara Mullen opened the scoring in the 15th minute, followed by a goal from G. Whyte in the 26th. Mullen scored again in the 47th minute, securing the victory for his team. Despite the defeat, Sligo Rovers managed 10 shots, although only 2 were on target. Derry City, on the other hand, had 16 shots, 7 of which were on target.
