Deportivo Garcilaso Thrashes Sport Boys in Cusco
In a thrilling match played at the Estadio Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in Cusco, Deportivo Garcilaso convincingly defeated Sport Boys 3-0 in the sixth round of the Peruvian Primera División’s Apertura phase. The game, played on March 29th, 2025, was officiated by Robin Segura.
Although Sport Boys controlled possession (65%), Deportivo Garcilaso proved more clinical in attack. Paolo Erustes opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Iván Gariglio added two more goals (47′ and 61′), both assisted by Kevin Sandoval, to extend the home team’s lead. Álvaro Ugarriza sealed the victory with a goal in the 81st minute, assisted by Nicolás Gómez.
Sport Boys received three yellow cards (Gonzales, Colombo, and Hohberg), while Deportivo Garcilaso received two (Garcia and Ugarriza). Despite their greater possession and 14 shots (3 on target), Sport Boys couldn’t break down the resolute home defense. Deportivo Garcilaso, meanwhile, had 14 shots, 6 of them on target.
