Delfín SC Thrashes Cumbayá in Thrilling Manta Encounter
Delfín SC secured a convincing 6-3 victory over Cumbayá FC in a thrilling match played at Estadio Jocay in Manta on November 30th, 2024. The game, part of the 15th round of the Liga Pro’s second round, was characterized by the home team’s efficiency and Cumbayá’s persistence, who managed to score three penalties.
Delfín SC dominated the first half with goals from Jhon Angulo (minutes 3 and 45), Iván Gariglio (minute 13), and Maximiliano Mejia (minutes 21 and 52). Cumbayá pulled one back with a penalty converted by Bryan Vides in the 30th minute. Before halftime, Cumbayá scored again through Anthony Almagro in the 38th minute.
In the second half, Angulo scored again in the 66th minute, completing his hat-trick. Cumbayá tried to fight back, scoring two more penalties through Vides in the 72nd and 90th minutes. Despite the visitors’ efforts, Delfín SC held firm and secured a well-deserved victory.
