DC United Edges Out Sporting Kansas City in Thrilling Match at Audi Field
Washington, D.C. – DC United secured a 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City in a captivating match at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The game, part of the Major League Soccer regular season’s fourth round, was characterized by numerous yellow cards and intense moments.
Although Sporting Kansas City controlled possession (56%), DC United proved more clinical in attack. Erik Thommy’s goal in the 54th minute, assisted by Johnny Davis, put Sporting Kansas City ahead. However, Christian Benteke leveled the score with a penalty in the 60th minute following a foul on a DC United player.
