Libertad Wins Hard-Fought Match in Quito
Quito – In a match held at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa, Libertad secured a narrow victory against Cuniburo in the 15th round of the Liga Pro. The game, officiated by Gorky Stalin Araujo Zambrano, was characterized by its intensity and missed opportunities.
Despite dominating possession with 54%, Libertad struggled to convert their chances. C. Arboleda opened the scoring in the 29th minute, after missing a penalty that he subsequently scored off the rebound. W. Ayovi extended the lead in the 45th minute, also after initially missing a penalty.
Cuniburo, with less possession (46%), constantly sought the opposing goal. Their efforts were rewarded in the 84th minute when R. Monti scored from a penalty.
