Deportivo Cuenca Edges Out Cuniburo in Tight Encounter
Quito, April 26, 2025.- Deportivo Cuenca secured a 1-0 victory over Cuniburo at Quito’s Estadio Banco Guayaquil in a closely fought Liga Pro match, round 10 of the 2025 season. Referee Yerson Zambrano oversaw a game characterized by evenly matched possession (50% each), but with a significant difference in goal-scoring opportunities.
Lucas Mancinelli’s 19th-minute goal proved to be the decisive moment. While Cuniburo created more chances (12 shots, 3 on target), Deportivo Cuenca showed greater efficiency. The Cuenca defense effectively contained Cuniburo’s attacks, while their attack capitalized on their only clear opportunity.
