Flamengo Stages Comeback to Defeat Cuiabá in Thrilling Finish
Cuiabá, Mato Grosso – In a thrilling match played at the Arena Pantanal, Flamengo mounted a comeback to defeat Cuiabá 2-1 in round 34 of the 2024 Brazilian Serie A. The match, refereed by Edina Alves Batista, was characterized by Flamengo’s superiority in possession (63% to Cuiabá’s 37%) and shots on target (7 to 3).
Cuiabá took the lead in the 59th minute with a goal from Derik Lacerda, assisted by Clayson. However, Flamengo responded forcefully. Guilherme equalized in the 62nd minute, thanks to an assist from Bruno Henrique. In a dramatic finish, Matheus Gonçalves scored the winning goal for Flamengo in the 90th minute, assisted by Michael.
