CSKA Moscow Edges Out FC Rostov in Thrilling VEB Arena Match
Moscow, November 23, 2024 – CSKA Moscow secured a 2-3 victory over FC Rostov in a thrilling Premier League encounter at the VEB Arena. The match, refereed by Pavel Kukuyan, was a closely fought contest decided in the closing stages.
Khellven put CSKA Moscow ahead early, scoring in the 4th minute with an assist from T. Musaev. However, FC Rostov fought back in the second half. E. Golenkov scored two goals, in the 77th and 89th minutes, the second unassisted, to turn the game around. Despite Rostov’s comeback, CSKA managed another goal to secure the win.
The match was a hard-fought affair, with a total of 26 fouls (17 by CSKA Moscow and 9 by FC Rostov). Both teams received two yellow cards each. CSKA Moscow dominated possession with 57%, while FC Rostov managed more shots (10 to 7).
