USM Alger staged a thrilling comeback against CS Constantine in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals, played at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Constantine. Although CS Constantine took an early lead with a goal from M. Temine in the 29th minute, USM Alger showed their resilience and fighting spirit. Despite a missed penalty by M. Merghem in the 54th minute, USM Alger turned the game around thanks to a goal by K. Mondeko Zatu in the 73rd minute. The match was marked by tension, with numerous yellow cards for both teams (four each) and a red card for USM Alger’s S. Boukhenchouche in the 76th minute. Despite CS Constantine enjoying slightly more possession (51%), USM Alger was more clinical in front of goal (6 shots on target vs 5) and ultimately secured a 2-1 victory.
