Cruz Azul Edges Out León in Thrilling Quarter-Final Clash
Mexico City, May 12, 2025 – Cruz Azul emerged victorious against León with a 2-1 win in a thrilling Liga MX Clausura 2024 quarter-final match held at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario. The game, officiated by Victor Alfonso Caceres Hernandez, was a back-and-forth affair full of excitement.
Iván Rivero put Cruz Azul ahead in the 33rd minute, assisted by Augusto Sepulveda. However, León responded swiftly, equalizing in the 39th minute through a goal by José Caicedo, assisted by Ángel Blanco.
