Thrilling Match in Criciúma Ends with Victory for Paysandu
Criciúma, Santa Catarina – In a vibrant and eventful match, Paysandu defeated Criciúma at the Estádio Heriberto Hülse. The match, corresponding to the 29th round of the Brazilian Serie B, ended with a score of 3-5 in favor of the visiting team.
The match started with Criciúma dominating possession (57%), taking the lead in the 14th minute thanks to a goal by Jhonata Robert, assisted by Felipinho. Paysandu reacted and Reverson equalized in the 31st minute. Just before halftime, Mauricio Garcez put Paysandu ahead in the 44th minute, but Nicolas responded immediately for Criciúma in the 45th minute, leaving a 2-2 tie at halftime.
The second half was even more intense. Marlon Douglas put Paysandu ahead again in the 68th minute. Felipinho’s expulsion in the 65th minute complicated matters for Criciúma. Paysandu took advantage of their numerical superiority, and Mauricio Garcez sealed the match with a goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Mauricio Antonio.
Despite having greater possession and a similar number of shots, Criciúma failed to convert their opportunities, while Paysandu was more effective in attack. Paysandu took 18 shots, with 8 on target, compared to Criciúma’s 16 shots, of which only 5 were on target.
