Coventry Thrashes Sunderland in Dominant Display
Coventry secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Sunderland at The Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry, West Midlands on March 15th, 2025. The match, officiated by Dean Whitestone, was part of the Championship’s 38th round. Coventry controlled the game, enjoying 55% possession and unleashing 21 shots, 5 of which were on target.
Hakeem Wright was the star performer, bagging a hat-trick. He scored in the 21st minute, assisted by Viktor Torp, followed by a penalty conversion in the 29th minute. Wright completed his treble in the 73rd minute, again with Torp providing the assist. Sunderland struggled offensively, managing only 6 shots, with a mere one on target. Both teams received yellow cards; Sunderland receiving two, and Coventry one. Despite their defensive efforts, Sunderland couldn’t prevent a heavy defeat.
