Dominican Republic and Costa Rica Draw in Thrilling Gold Cup Match
Arlington, Texas – In a vibrant match held at AT&T Stadium, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica tied two goals each in the second matchday of the group stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2025. The match, refereed by Lukasz Szpala (USA), was characterized by a balanced game in ball possession, which was divided equally between both teams (50% for each).
The Dominican Republic took the lead in the 16th minute thanks to a goal by J. Urbaez. Costa Rica responded just before halftime, with a penalty converted by M. Ugalde in the 45th minute.
The second half maintained the intensity. Costa Rica managed to turn the score around in the 85th minute with a goal by J. Alcocer, after an assist from M. Ugalde. However, the joy was short-lived, as the Dominican Republic did not give up and defended their territory.
