Palermo triumphed over Cosenza in a thrilling match played at the Stadio San Vito-Luigi Marulla in Cosenza. The game, corresponding to matchday 27 of the Italian Serie B, ended with a resounding 3-0 victory for the visiting team.
Nicolás Pierozzi opened the scoring for Palermo in the 30th minute, assisted by Valentin Verre. Pierozzi, however, received a yellow card in the 44th minute. Cosenza responded with a yellow card for Charlys in the 52nd minute. Matteo Brunori extended Palermo’s lead in the 55th minute, scoring a penalty. Brunori also received a yellow card shortly after (57th minute). Palermo’s third goal arrived in the 65th minute, thanks to a goal by Joel Pohjanpalo, again assisted by Verre. Cosenza saw two more yellow cards.
Despite dominating possession (53% for Cosenza), Palermo proved more clinical in front of goal, with 6 shots on target compared to Cosenza’s 5. Cosenza had more corners (10 to Palermo’s 2), but Palermo’s efficiency in the chances they created decided the match.
