Deportivo Claims Victory Over Córdoba in Tense, Goal-Filled Match
Córdoba, Spain – Deportivo La Coruña defeated Córdoba at the Estadio Nuevo Arcángel in a hard-fought match marked by intensity. The match, corresponding to matchday 14 of the Segunda División, ended with a score in favor of the visiting team.
The game was characterized by a high number of cards. Referee Alvaro Moreno Aragón showed five yellow cards to Córdoba and another five to Deportivo, in addition to a red card to Córdoba player R. Alves. The first half remained scoreless, but with a physical game that translated into multiple warnings.
In the second half, Deportivo opened the scoring in the 60th minute thanks to a goal from G. Quagliata, assisted by Y. Hernández. However, the joy was short-lived, as an own goal by L. Noubi in the 67th minute leveled the match. The turning point came in the 73rd minute with the expulsion of R. Alves. Y. Hernández took advantage of the numerical superiority and scored from a penalty in the 75th minute, returning the lead to Deportivo. In the final minutes, D. Mella sealed the game with a goal in the 90th minute.
Although Córdoba dominated ball possession with 62%, they failed to translate that superiority into the score. The home team took 22 shots, of which only 6 were on target. Deportivo, on the other hand, was more effective, taking advantage of the opportunities created.
