Colombia started strong, scoring two early goals thanks to Luis Díaz (minute 1) and J. Durán (minute 13). However, Paraguay reacted at the end of the first half with a goal from J. Alonso in the 45th minute. In the second half, Paraguay equalized the score in the 62nd minute with a goal from J. Enciso. The match was very contested, with both teams showing offensive flair.
