Colo Colo suffered a narrow defeat against Racing Club in a tense match played at the Estadio Monumental David Arellano in Santiago, Chile, corresponding to the 2025 CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage. The match, refereed by Juan Gabriel Benitez from Paraguay, was marked by a high number of yellow cards, five for Colo Colo and two for Racing. Despite a slight possession advantage for Racing Club (55%), Colo Colo started promisingly, taking the lead in the 9th minute with a goal from Leonardo Cepeda. However, the home team’s joy was short-lived. Racing Club equalized in the 86th minute with a goal from Matías Barrios, assisted by Adrián Martínez. Although Colo Colo had 8 shots (1 on target), Racing showed more accuracy with 10 shots (4 on target). A hard-fought match with a bittersweet ending for the Chilean team.
