High-Voltage Match in El Salvador Ends with Cobresal Victory
The match played at the Estadio El Cobre in El Salvador, within the framework of the Chilean Primera División, 2025 Season, between Cobresal and Huachipato, was a game full of emotions and alternatives. Despite the equality in possession (49% for Cobresal and 51% for Huachipato), Cobresal took the victory.
Huachipato struck first with a goal by M. Gutiérrez in the 2nd minute, however, the match became complicated for Cobresal with the expulsion of C. Barrera in the 15th minute. Despite the numerical inferiority, the local team reacted and C. Munder tied the game in the 32nd minute, with an assist from J. A. Henriquez Neira. The match became even more tense with several yellow cards and the expulsion of J. I. Castro from Huachipato in the 48th minute.
In the second half, Cobresal took advantage of its numerical superiority to take the lead. J. A. Henriquez Neira scored in the 61st minute, and D. Coelho extended the lead in the 68th minute, with an assist from C. Toro. Huachipato reduced the deficit in the 84th minute with a goal by R. Malanca, assisted by C. Sepulveda, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
Cobresal dominated in shots on goal (11 against 10 from Huachipato) and corners (7 against 5), reflecting its greater offensive presence despite the possession slightly favorable to Huachipato. The refereeing of Fernando Andre Vejar Diaz was crucial, marking the pace of a match that ended with two expulsions and five yellow cards.
