Club Tijuana and FC Juárez played a thrilling match at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, as part of matchday 7 of the Liga MX Clausura 2024. The game, officiated by Guillermo Pacheco Larios, ended with a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
Xolos started strong, scoring in the 2nd minute through a goal by J. Zuniga, assisted by E. Alvarez. However, FC Juárez responded quickly, tying the score in the 21st minute with a goal from Guilherme Castilho, assisted by D. Villalpando. Tijuana had a goal disallowed for offside to J. Zuniga in the 36th minute. The second half was marked by tension, with two yellow cards for Club Tijuana (A. Gómez and R. Arciga) and one for FC Juárez (S. Abdullahi). FC Juárez snatched the win in the dying moments of the game with a goal from A. Zaldivar in the 90th minute.
Despite having more possession (63%) and more shots (19 to 12), Club Tijuana couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities. FC Juárez, with greater efficiency, managed to take all three points.
